Scientists discover appetite suppressant the world is waiting for.
Obesity has become a worldwide epidemic and effective obesity treatments are scarce. The CDC reports that in the United States, about 66% of adults are obese or overweight, as are 16% of kids aged 6 to 19.
This is alarming to say the least. Look at those figures again. 66% of adults are fat. What this says is that were you to pick 10 adults and get them to stand in a row, odds are that 7 of them will be fat.
Now for those who are overweight, this may come somewhat as consolatory, because you now begin to feel you are not alone. But hey, that does not make it right!
If given a choice, you rather be slim than be burdened with all that fat around. Having been fat myself before, I can tell you that my biggest regret was to have blown away almost a decade of my life because there was some much I could not do due to my size. Well choices are about decisions and if you plan to take some action and dump that fat, then here’s some good news for you.
A substance present in our small intestine is showing great promise as the ‘appetite suppressant’ obese people the world over have been waiting for. Called NAPE (has some long name, Google it if you need to know) is produced when fatty foods are ingested. NAPE is carried to the brain where it acts as a feedback loop and tells the brain to shut down eating.
Scientists at Yale studied the substance and found that mice and rats that were injected with NAPE ate less food and lost weight. Nape seemed to reduce appetite by acting on neurons in the hypothalamus that stimulate hunger by reducing the activity of those neurons. Writing in the journal, Cell, the researchers believe this discovery could lead to new approaches to fighting obesity.
After five days on NAPE, rats ate 30% less food and lost a quarter of their weight. Rodents that didn’t get NAPE actually gained a little flab. Shulman’s team didn’t notice any other permanent behavioural changes in the NAPE-fed mice.

This is great news, but there’s a downside. They are still at primate (monkey) trials. This means that they are a long way from human trails and then, and if all’s well it will be approved and you see it on the shelves at drugstores. Well, it would be unfair to call that ‘bad’ news. Someday, in the future, obese people the world over may be helped by this discovery.
Now, what if you’re overweight now and can’t wait for them to finish their trials. Look at this -Strip That Fat works pretty well. There are numerous testimonies with people getting results in just 7 days and the plan is not taxing on your diet, or your wallet. Comes with an unconditional ‘Money Back’ so give it a go and check it out.

Debra Messing “Healthy Approach” to Weight Loss
Debra Messing is in the January issue of Shape and proud of the fact that she shed 42 pounds after the birth of her son Roman in 2004.
However, she recalls hurtful stories she read in tabloids about her as she tried to lose her baby weight. “On one page it showed all the actresses who got skinny in six weeks or less, and on the other page was me!” says the Will & Grace and Starter Wife star. “I was so depressed and frustrated.”
She atributes her weight loss to mixing workouts with her duties as a mom and actress and of course eating healthier. Messing has never looked better and she proudly shows off her body on the cover of the magazine
She says she’s happy with the approach she took. “Ultimately I’m very proud of how I dropped the weight because I think it was the healthy approach,” she says. “I’ve finally taken ownership of my body.”

Consumers are wasting billions of pounds on ‘quack’ foods that promise to help them lose weight, a nutritional expert has warned - Daily Telegraph
A recent article in the British Medical Journal by Prof Michael Lean of the University of Glasgow warns of the millions of dollars that is being wasted by consumers who purchase ‘low fat’ foods.
He said “marketing foods as ‘low fat’ and ‘helps lower cholesterol’ have to be substantiated under current rules and labeling foods as preventing or treating disease is illegal, but ‘huge numbers’ of such claims are still being made overtly or implied.”
He went on to say that “only appropriate diets, exercise, licensed drugs such as orlistat and sibutramine along with bariatric surgery which includes stomach stapling and gastric bands, are safe and effective.”
Without doubt, I must agree with what the Prof says.
Also to be borne in mind is the fact that there are people out there who somehow assume that by making up their meal with a few of these foods, they are going to loose weight.
Adding on a Diet Coke and requesting for low fat cheese on your double cheeseburger is not going to help you loose weight.
The only way is to get on to a diet plan, get some exercise, set your goal to succeed in your plan to dump that weight and believe in yourself.

Get A Toga - Quick Fix Fat Loss Surgery.
I suppose the temptation can be irresistible. Losing weight with a diet and physical exercise plan can be slow and frustrating for those who seek results fast, and many people these days are opting for surgery.
So is fat loss surgery the solution for you?
Turning to the surgeon’s knife for a quick fix weight loss solution is an option which 200,000 people in the United States take each year. The numbers have increased as more insurance plans begin to cover the cost of the surgery.
The results can be quick and dramatic thus having an immense psycological impact on the patient. The surgeons who offer such treatment believe that the weight loss by such means outweigh the health risks that come with being overweight.
However there is a downside to it. There is of course the dangers associated with requiring surgery for one. The surgical slits will leave scars and the pain associated with surgery to abdominal muscles remain for a while.
Bariatric or the Toga.
This treatment is called Bariatric surgery and as high as 20 percent of post-op patients seem to require follow up operations. Common complications are hernias and leaks in the digestive track. About a third develop gallstones and many become vitamin deficient if they do not take supplements.
There is also a tendency for develop gastrointestinal problems and the post-op death rate stats are at about 1 in 50.
A more recent procedure seems intresting as it requires no cutting. Called the Toga method, it is a simple non-invasive procedure where the surgeon runs a stapler down your throat and staples up your stomach from the inside. This results in your stomach holding only a small amount of food. Still experimental, a few patients have already tried this in the US, and a lot more in Europe and Mexico. All said, this procedure is showing promising results with over 40 percent in weight loss after 1 year of treatment.
Having mentioned all this, you should realize that such surgery should be your last resort after having attempted a weight loss diet and exercise plan. Seek your doctor’s advise and there is no harm in going for a second opnion before you proceed with Bariatic or the Toga surgery.
A great fat loss diet plan is called Strip That Fat. There is no starvation involved. It involves eating the right food for the maximum weight loss. Many of those who have tried it have seen results in 7 to 14 days. It comes with an uncoditional money back gaurantee, so you might want to try it before you even want to consider surgery.
